This week on Business Over Beer, we welcome Lindsey Charlet, Founder and CEO visual design and content strategy studio, HUB Collective.
After 13 years in business, Lindsey and her team decided to walk away from their largest client, and more than three quarters of their existing business, in order to focus on the doing the work they wanted to do. Although that decision could have been catastrophic, it has instead propelled her and the agency to success doing what they love, doing what they are best at and making a difference for the clients and communities they serve.
Lindsey is a great speaker, she’s fun and funny and is the perfect combination of self confidence and self deprecation. But make no mistake, once her lady balls get swinging, get out of the way, because this bad ass business woman is making things happen.
Prost!
In this episode:

Since their business shift away from being a production house to a brand design studio, they have continued to refine their process and fine tuning it around culture and identity
Do not invite people to meetings if they don’t have a speaking part – if they are in the meeting they deserve a voice.
Pay attention to the energy of a situation, go after the things worth going after and do not be afraid to let go those things that aren’t – “I’ll be damned if I look back and think of things that might have been.”
Surrounding yourself with peers is critical. We all need to have people to bounce things off of, with the knowledge that others are in it too and that we’re not alone.
“American IPAs are known for their citrusy hop punch, but we cranked up the juice on this one! Brewed with grapefruit peel and a mysterious new hop codenamed “Experimental Grapefruit”, this IPA is a serious citrus bomb. Lively and bright, bracingly bitter, and eminently refreshing, you’ll wish it grew on trees!”
