September 23, 2019 – The Business Over Beer Journey officially commences with our pilot episode recorded live from Ben’s Bottle Shop in Vancouver Washington.
Angela Surratt, namesake of the “Angie’s Mystery Beer” segment on Business Over Beer and patron saint of all things family friendly, joins us to discuss her company, My Family Guide. Our apologies to Angie and to our listening audience, we had some audio trouble with the guest mic, which was full of static for the first half of the episode and went out completely in the second half so all we had was the ambient audio from the speaker in the room. Something is bound to go a little sideways when recording Live, right? Thankfully, the hosts all sound great, even Knopp surprisingly.
Guest Beer / Angie’s Mystery Beer – they’re one in the same when Angie herself stops by as the guest:
Browar Fortuna, Poland
Komes Russian Imperial Stout – 12% ABV
“A strong, aromatic and complex dark, top fermenting beer matured for 6 months. It is especially appreciated by beer lovers all over the world. The distinct roasted note, typical of the style, comes from roasted barley. The notes of coffee, chocolate and prunes are counter-balanced with a distinct bitterness. A small amount of rye malt boosts the beer’s richness and velvety texture. The RIS has an intense flavour and aroma attributed to aromatic Ukrainian varieties of hops(Klonand Slovianka). Despite the beverage’s considerable strength, the alcohol is not aggressive but rather – pleasantly warming.”
