Thankful Thirsty Thursday with The BOB at Ghost Runners Brewery & Kitchen
I was about 10 minutes early for my reservation at Ghost Runners Brewery and Kitchen. I’m glad Jeff encouraged me to make a reservation because I could tell the outdoor seating was already packed. I walked in and was welcomed by the warmth and the smell of pizza being made in the Kitchen. I ordered one of my favorite local beers, the Phantom Rojo. I grabbed the pint of the Imperial Red goodness, and took my seat outside.
As I waiting for the dudes to join me, I sipped on the beer and glanced at the food menu. The rain began to pour a little heavier and was soon joined by a chilly breeze. I began to think about how much I missed meeting friends and family indoors, and how different this Thanksgiving is going to be. I took another sip of my awesome beer choice, and stared at the already half empty pint glass. I kept staring and staring, until I finally asked myself; “Is the glass really half empty? Or is it half full? I’ve always been the glass is half full kind of guy, so why am I seeing this pint as half empty?”
I looked at the pint glass a little bit longer, and then it hit me.
While I know it’s tough for me now, there are a lot of people with holes in their lives that will never be filled. And so, I refuse to wallow in my sorrow, instead I choose to be thankful.
I’m thankful that I am able to have local craft beer, a tasty pepperoni and mushroom pizza, with two of my closest friends & business partners on a Tuesday night.
I’m thankful that I have the support of my family, my friends and my community.
I’m thankful that through all of this, I still have a business that allows me to put food on the table.
I’m thankful that I have a loving wife who is still my best friend, business partner and love of my life.
I’m thankful that my children are healthy and staying positive through all of the changes they’ve gone through this past year.
I’m thankful for all of the friends I have in my life. Though we might not see each other as much, I appreciate the impact you’ve made in my life.
I’m thankful for my entire family, blood and otherwise. Thank you for having my back regardless of how far we are from each other.
I’m thankful for all of the Business Over Beer supporters we have. From the Patreons and Sponsor Partners, to our Guests and Listeners. We appreciate you all.
Most importantly I’m thankful for this moment in time. And when this whole thing is all said in done, I’ll be able to say, “I made it”. Now let’s kick some ass!
