On today’s episode of the The BOB Happy Hour, KOIN 6 Portland News Anchor Jenifer Hoff saddles up to the virtual bar. Jennifer shares with us her journey from the University of Minnesota where she started as an Interior Design student, eventually getting her degree in Broadcast Journalism and making her way to the Pacific Northwest with stops in Wisconsin and Kentucky. We discuss the impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the News Stations’ operations and how she and her colleagues are coping with social distancing while still providing the news of the day.
A few things you’ll learn:
- In the face of hardship, know your purpose and focus on getting your job done.
- Just do your best everyday, knowing that your best will be better some days than on others.
- Success comes from a strong core business.
What we’re drinking:

Smackdab Hazy IPA, 6.3% ABV
“Taking inspiration from both New England and West Coast IPA, Smackdab is a hazy beer with a bit of hop bite in the finish, while Citra and Mosaic hops impart juicy tropical flavors.”
Hopworks Urban Brewery – Portland, OR
Upstream Salmon Safe IPA, 7% ABV
“Brewed with Salmon-Safe barley and hops from Mainstem and Roy Farms, this PNW IPA has notes of fruit and spice with pine, grapefruit, and pineapple flavors.”
Fort George Brewing – Astoria, OR
City of Dreams, Pale Ale, 5.5% ABV
“Juice yeast, for a juicy quality. Plenty of wheat for a hazy mouthfeel. Tropical and citrus on the hops. As hoppy as an IPA, with the ABV of a Pale Ale.”

“Light, crisp and full of malt flavor. Slight tropical citrus aroma. Clean and refreshing.”
