Thirsty Thursday with The BOB at Ben’s Bottle Shop
Thirsty Thursday from Ben’s Bottle Shop
It’s Thursday again that must mean we’re thirsty!
Remember when you were a kid and you’d go over to your friend’s house to play laser tag, and before you knew it your Mom showed up to take you back home? Just when it seemed like you were getting started making your fort and establishing the laser tag rules, it was time to go. As we get older, we understand more and more that time REALLY does fly when we have fun.
Ben started out the night with a Fort George Fields of Green Wet Hopped. Not only was it beautiful in color, but the earthy nose and flavor is so crisp and really makes this beer great! Knopp and Lynn both had Von Ebert Alemanian Pilsner, and Kaylor rocked the Bale Breaker Citra Slicker Wet Hop IPA, (which Ben also had later, but more on that in a bit).
The Food
If you have ever been to Ben’s Bottle Shop, you know that the beer selection is off the chain, but their flipping food menu is just as impressive. The minute you enter Ben’s, the kitchen gives your nose a welcoming hug that would make Grandma’s kitchen jealous. Whether it’s an appetizer like the soft pretzels, or the rich and delicious mac and cheese, your taste buds won’t be disappointed.
Round 2
For Ben’s second round, he tried the Bale Breaker Citra Slicker, all there is to say is….WOW! The oils from the wet hop really gives this beer a bitter front end to go with the floral nose, with a mild fruity back end. It was so good; Kaylor got another pint, while Knopp and Lynn stayed the course with the Von Ebert Pils.
The night ended with Kaylor and Ben bringing some beer home, wondering where all the time went. If you haven’t been to Ben’s Bottle Shop, seriously, get your butt down there. They have an incredible selection of all types of craft beer and are knowledgeable about almost any style you might be looking for. Their food is out of this world, and they are totally family friendly.
They are located at 8052 E Mill Plain Blvd in Vancouver, WA. Let them know that Business Over Beer sent you!
