Thirsty Thursday with The BOB at Fortside Brewing and Taco Spaceship
Thirsty Thursday from Fortside Brewing and Taco Spaceship
It’s Thursday again and we’re thirsty. And hungry!
It goes without saying that starting your own business has its risks and trepidations. But having a strong support group at your side and in your corner is one of the most important things entrepreneur can do.
Business Over Beer turned a year old in September, so it is a great time to reflect and acknowledge the support we’ve received from so many people and so may small business owners in Vancouver, WA. This week’s Thirsty Thursday, we’re recognizing Fortside Brewing Company and Taco Spaceship.
For Ben, it was one of those days that he needed an escape. From homeschooling woes, pain in the ass allergies, the Chicago Bears brutal loss, and to top it all off…it was laundry day. So, when that notification came through about the post from Taco Spaceship, things immediately started looking up.
They were promoting their BOB’s Cheeseburger Taco. Yes. That right. We have a taco named after us (take that Sasquatch Hunters). Like Pavlov’s Dog, seeing the pictures of those scrumptious tacos we began to drool.
One of the best things about Fortside, aside from having some of the best craft beer around, is their family friendly environment, there is no hesitation to pack up the kids and bring them along. They have pints of real beer for the adults and pints of root beer for the kiddoes.
Ben and Kaylor’s wife grabbed a pint of the BioDiversity Mixed Culture IPA, a farmhouse ale that will overload your taste buds with its complex and Diverse flavors. Plus, proceeds from this beer will go to the Equal Justice Initiative that will continue to fight for civil rights & social justice in America. Kaylor ordered himself the Newest IPA, a rotating IPA. This West Coast Style IPA was bitter but refreshing, and a perfect complement to the spicy Buffalo Taco.
The little humans started looking at us with their pity kitty eyes, which usually means they’re getting hungry. Ben’s crew got themselves 4 BOB Cheeseburger tacos and 2 orders of Buffalo Chicken tacos. The Kaylor’s grabbed a variety of all the tacos on the menu, of course the BOB Cheeseburger Taco, as well as the vegetarian option Garlic Pepper Mushroom Taco and a couple quesadillas for the kids.
We grabbed our socially distanced seats and Ben talked about how cool he is, and how lucky the children are to have him as their father. They agreed, of course…
Fortside is a place where you can walk in, grab a pint of beer, eat some delicious food, sit down with friends and family, and enjoy each other’s company. Both Fortside and Taco Spaceship are truly a favorite of ours and of Vancouver.
