Thirsty Thursday with The BOB at Final Draft Taphouse
It’s Thirsty Thursday with The BOB!
After doing the Business over Beer Podcast for over a year now, it’s becoming more and more apparent, that we’re not just drinking beers and talking business…I mean, yeah, it’s some of what we do for sure, but it’s turning into something a bit more special. Our mission has always been building a community to help support Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurship.
The way Business Over Beer builds that community is a three tier system:
The podcast
Partnerships and Sponsorships
The Patreon Membership
The one thing that is a consistent with all three tiers is having Real conversations with Real people. All three Tiers involve making sure our Listeners, Partners and Members feel comfortable enough to have those Real conversations that are so important in not just business, but in our everyday life.
Real conversations spark Real passion and this week’s Thirsty Thursday Business Spotlight has plenty of Passion, for both their Business and their Community.
Final Draft Taphouse located in Vancouver, WA, was for Ben, one of the first Tap Houses he can remember going into that really gave him a sense of what the Pacific Northwest (specifically the North Bank) Beer Culture truly is. Ben feels like he has known the owners, Kimberly and Mike, alongside their entire team, forever. Being at Final Draft is a very satisfying experience. Not only is service great, but also the knowledge they have about the incredibly rad tap list.
The First Round
Ben and Kaylor’s first beer was probably the biggest surprise of the night, on recommendation from Mike, they enjoyed the Circular Spaces from Portland Brewery, Ruse Brewing. This Beer is flipping Amazing! A Hazy IPA, double dry hopped to perfection. The color, the nose and the palate will all thank you as soon as you lift the glass to your mouth. It’s one of the best Hazy’s we’ve had the past couple of months, and we’ve had my fair share.
Knopp joined us with Luger Pilsner from Camas, WA brewery, Grains of Wrath.
We also had a couple of friends join us for a pint and to talk about business stuff. A familiar face to the BOB Thirsty Thursday, Val Hook with BeLocal joined us with a cider from 12 Bridge Ciderworks out of Oregon City and a new friend to the Thirsty Thursday, but a long time friend of The BOB, Audrey Clark of Audrey Clark Co., grabbed a pint of the Ash Cloud Amber from Battle Ground, WA brewery, Barrel Mountain Brewing.
Round 2
We sat and chatted for about an hour before Ben noticed empty glasses. So, he asked Riley, his main man behind the bar, what he should have next, and he suggested the Whatcha’ Doin’? IPA from Stoup Brewing out of Seattle. This is a great representation of a clean West Coast IPA, that’s not too piney, but bitter enough to get your taste buds moving. Kaylor moved onto the Flim Flam IPA from E9 Brewing out of Tacoma, also a West Coast IPA that was quite the contrast to the hazy, and equally delicious.
#ImHungry
As we drank our suds, talked shop and masterminded, we noticed how crazy dark it was getting outside, which meant of course it was time to eat! So, Kaylor ordered a flatbread that was recommended by our buddy Bill Cohen, and on a chilly autumn day, than an Italian Sausage and Peppers Flatbread really hit the spot. Seriously, it was delicious. Val, on the other hand went a little lighter with chips and salsa which was also very well prepared, not to mention a great gluten free snack for those who need it.
Final Round
Before we said our “goodbyes”, Ben had to order one of his favorite local beers, Tang from
Trap Door Brewing. Juicy and Citrusy, this is a beer I could have any time of year, without question. If you haven’t tried it, yet, do it!
Leaving Final Draft for the evening, we felt like we always do leaving there, satisfied. Satisfied in the beer(s) we ordered, the food we ate and the conversations we had.
Get your ass down to Final Draft and you’ll see what I’m talking about! Tell them The BOB sent you!
